Industrial Engineer

Basic Function:
The Engineer, under minimum supervision, supports the manufacturing process through the development, implementation and monitoring of systems designed to improve workplace efficiency and layout, and enhance manufacturing methods and processes.

Essential Duties:

  • Updates and maintains the employee incentive system according to quality changes in the shop.
  • Maintains quality specification documentation according to quality changes in the shop.
  • Provides assistance to process owners in meeting production, quality and inventory goals.
  • Monitors manufacturing performance data, weekly, and makes changes, accordingly.
  • Monitors labor cost trends, monthly, and recommends measures for improvement as required.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest developments in the fields of industrial engineering and quality controls through reading, attendance at seminars, etc.
  • Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required.

Knowledge:
College level knowledge of industrial engineering and manufacturing processes typically acquired through the attainment of a Bachelors Degree in industrial engineering; and a knowledge in the use of a personal computer are required.

Experience:
One year performing industrial engineering tasks in a manufacturing environment is required, and exposure to a total quality environment is desirable

Skills/Aptitudes:
Ability to deal with people at all organizational levels; attention to detail; and good administrative, analytical, mathematical, organizational, planning, problem solving and oral and written communication skills are required.

Working Conditions:
Office and plant environments. Extra hours are required.
